Description

This position requires an experienced Business Officer to work on a part time basis of 20 hours per week.

The role will involve the following experience:

- Manage/Supervise a team which supports the business through policy, development, planning, performance, service delivery and governance.

- Manage and direct resources to ensure work is completed within agreed timescales/financial constraints and quality standards, in line with Agency policy.

- Supervise the research, development, collation, co-ordination and dissemination of management information including policy, reports, briefings, business plans, risk registers, presentations and web based communications as appropriate.

- Provide secretariat support to Directors/Senior management, to ensure the priorities of the Private Office are met and appropriate standards maintained.

- Manage/supervise case management, planning activity or campaigns

- Manage/supervise science projects to identify areas where research and innovation can contribute to the Agency.

- Develop policy, reports, procedures and manage/monitor data systems across business areas.

- Supervise the quality, secure handling and dissemination of data/information, maintaining confidentiality, sensitivity and a duty of care in line with Agency policy.

- Work with government departments, statutory bodies, private organisations, academia and industry and attend working groups, government committees/meetings.

- Supervise the development and delivery of analytical products to support understanding and decision making.

- Responsibility for the integrity of data and the development of key datasets, working closely with stakeholders to extract, manipulate and present data in relation to performance, research and analysis

- Plan, design, develop and deliver training products to support identified learning needs.

- Provide support to develop improve and implement national standards of service delivery and supervise business and supplier performance.

- Manage/coach and develop staff.

- Manage issues relating to the performance and conduct of officers in line with Agency values/policy.

- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to foster collaborative working.

- Conduct Health & Safety Management in line with Agency policy and promote Health and Safety practice.

Due to the nature and urgency of this post, candidates holding or who have held high level security clearance in the past are most welcome to apply. Please note successful applicants will be required to be security cleared prior to appointment which can take up to a minimum 10 weeks.
