NPI Process Engineer Contractor Vacancy - Duration 12 months
Modis are currently recruiting for one of the world's largest suppliers of technologically advanced aerospace and defence products who design and manufacture electronics components for commercial, regional, business and military aircraft, helicopters and other platforms.
The successful candidate will have proven experience as an NPI Process Engineer, ideally from an Aerospace background but not essential, and will be responsible for maintaining production processes ensuring their robustness whilst introducing benchmark techniques to achieve first time yields. The position is a long term contract, initially for 12 months.
Key to the role, is ensuring quality best practices as part of the quality clinic team monitoring internal, customer and supplier errors to ensure the implementation of robust mistake proof levels to achieve zero reoccurrences.
Key Responsibilities
*Ensure that control plans, process flows and routings are in place for all products.
*Ensure all quality clinic investigations are successfully resolved with sufficient mistake proof levels utilising standard RRCA toolset.
*Monitor yield trends and implement continuous improvement plans.
*Support the business in achieving the Unit Production Cost targets, through monitoring, maintaining and improving process and product yield.
*Participate in conceptual and detailed mapping of processes for the manufacturing areas.
*Assist NPI engineering on the transition of new processes and products into production utilising best practices of lean and 6 sigma methodologies through UPAPP etc.
*Must be degree/HND qualified in an engineering discipline
*Be a good communicator and comfortable liaising across all levels within the organisation.
*A proven track record utilising 6 Sigma and Lean techniques within manufacturing is essential to this role.
