Credit Policy Analyst

I am currently working with a Start Up Financial Services company who are looking for a Credit Policy Analyst to manage the inherent risk in the first and second charge mortgage portfolio's to ensure they operate within the agreed credit risk appetite by developing, implementing and monitoring robust and effective credit risk polices.

Accountabilities:

- Liaise with stakeholders across the mortgages business in proactively reviewing, managing eg implementing mortgages credit policy including lending policy, mandates and exceptions policy etc.

- Undertaking annual reviews to ensure the policies are fit for purpose, regulatory compliant and support the enablement of the business to continue to operate within the defined risk appetite.

- Liaise with key stakeholders to review new product proposals and the associated lending criteria and policy updates.

- Produce committee papers to support changes in credit policy with supporting rationale, analytics and competitor analysis

- Ensure that mortgages policy and practice is compliant with company strategy and regulation

- Design mortgages MI to ensure it can be evidenced that policy has been effectively implemented.

- Review mortgages portfolios and MIS performance regularly and move quickly to highlight, and in consultation with the business recommend changes to policy for any high risk segments

Key Requirements:

- Experience in a mortgage lending environment

- Extensive Stakeholder Management

- A strong understanding of the regulatory framework in which the mortgage lending market operates

- Demonstrable experience in lending credit policy formulation (either as a stakeholder or credit policy manager)

- Experience in Microsoft applications
