Exeter - Other travel to Southampton, Bath and London.

Our exclusive client, a large Energy and Utilities company in the UK, is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to assist with a large construction and engineering project.
Job Purpose:
The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for the successful commercial management of CE's (Community Energy) Design & Build and Capital Projects from conception through to completion. They will work closely with the Assistant Commercial Manager along with the design and delivery teams to create a competitive supply chain with robust contracts, and then seek continual improvements.
Main responsibilities of role:
- Seeking the best value for money to deliver a safe, quality service.
- Assistance in the preparing of contract and tender documentation with the procurement taem.
- Managing external relationships without compromising E.ON's brand or values.
- Creating and managing project commercial controls to ensure projects are delivered to budget.
- Creating and managing project commercial controls with regards to internal and external service providers.
- Advising on project commercial risks and potential delays, variation and project contractual issues.
Requirements:
- A degree in a commercial or quantity surveying subject.
- Experience within the M&E and Civil Engineering sectors.
- Strong financial and commercial experience.
- Strong management experience within a quantity surveying department.
- Detailed experience of tender assessment and negotiations.
- Experience of specification writing and contract negotiation.
- Strong negotiating skills and an understanding of the commercial impact of their activities.
- Numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and information and produce it in a clear and logical format.
- A pro-active and creative approach to problem solving.
