Finance Manager (Stats/Tax)
Primary Purpose of the Role:
- Management of the timely preparation of tax packs and statutory accounts
- Management of the external audit process
- Management of direct and indirect tax compliance and reporting
- Management of specific tasks within a long-term financial accounting project
- Banking and treasury reporting and administration
Essential Job Functions:
- Liaison within Corporate Finance department on statutory and tax reporting issues
- Collaboration with finance teams in business units on all aspects of statutory and tax reporting, and on the planning and execution of the external audit
- Review of draft statutory accounts and all related documentation
- Project management of the statutory audit, including liaison with EY on all aspects, such as planning, interim, technical issues, disclosures and finalisation
- Preparation of technical accounting papers as applicable
- Review of tax packs and quarterly tax forecasts
- Oversight of iXBRL tagging by Deloitte
- Collaboration with TW Tax regarding statutory and tax reporting issues
- Review of VAT, Intrastat and ECSL returns
- Review of territory cash reporting for VAT and Tax payments
- Review of PAYE Settlement Agreement (PSA) submission
- Management of step plans for legal entities within the financial accounting project
- Review and reconciliation of aged items within legal entities
- Management and review of settlement of intercompany balances
- Bank Signatory
- Assist with banking and treasury requests
- Regular update of bank mandates
- Management and development of direct reports
- Other duties as directed from time to time
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/WORK EXPERIENCES
Education/Qualifications
- PQE ACCA/ACA qualified or equivalent
Relevant Previous Work Experience
- Ideally, big 4 audit firm qualified
- Previous experience of preparing UK GAAP Statutory Accounts and liaising with external auditors is essential
- Financial or Management Accounting experience is required, some of which will have been in a US GAAP reporting environment, ideally with exposure to international operations
- Media, gaming or film production accounting and VAT reporting experience would be advantageous
- Previous experience of managing a team is required
