The role:
Our client requests proposals from our Technical Services Framework for a Senior IT System Architect, Infrastructure and Security Lead service, primarily to lead and manage the IT Infrastructure and Security Team.
The Senior IT System Architect, Infrastructure and Security Lead will lead and manage the IT Infrastructure and Security team and will report directed to the IT Service Delivery Manager. They will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of 3rd level support of infrastructure, environments, networks, Firewalls, connectivity and platforms ensuring they are robust, reliable, resilient, scalable and secure. Furthermore they will be responsible for aligning infrastructure, environments, networks, Firewalls, connectivity and platforms with business needs by scoping; designing; implementing, testing and releasing projects to production (Service Design) and transitioning the day-to-day support to the IT Operations Team as appropriate (Service Transition).
The Senior IT System Architect, Infrastructure and Security Lead will be responsible for the following IT services and processes:
1.3rd Level Support of Service Requests, Incidents and Problem Management of major issues related to infrastructure, environments, network, storage, Firewall and hosting issues; referred by the IT Operations team.
2.IT Security Management - Developing; maintaining and implementing policies and procedures to establish and monitor secure IT Services and ensuring adherence to these.
3.IT Capacity Management - Ensure IT services have enough capacity to meet the demand of services agreed with the business.
4.IT Availability Management - Services to be available according to agreed business needs and expectations.
5.IT Service Continuity Management - Develop procedures to ensure IT services are restored from critical issues as expected by the business. Lead on IT Service Continuity tests on a periodic basis.
6.Release and Deployment Management - Deliver new/updated IT Services in a structured and controlled way in alignment with PMO and best project delivery practices. Ensure new or updated IT services are documented and transitioned into IT Operations by training 1st and 2nd line support personnel.
1.Service Requirements
The successful tenderer for the Senior IT System Architect, Infrastructure and Security Lead Service is required to, but not limited to:
1.Plan - Plan, set, agree and report on IT Infrastructure and Security Team objectives aligned with the organization's business requirements and ensure that all IT services outlined in the IT Service Model and Catalogue are delivering value to the business.
2.Manage Incidents, Requests and Major Problems - Day-to-day management and reporting of IT service requests.
3.Report - Preparation of weekly/monthly status reports for review by the Delivery Manager and key stakeholders in the business.
4.Manage People - Lead small technical team in Infrastructure and Security staff.
5.Manage Vendors and SLAs - Manage third party suppliers and ensure adherence to SLAs, from a technical perspective.
6.IT Security Management - Develop and maintain policies, processes and procedures to establish and monitor secure IT Services and ensuring adherence to these.
7.IT Capacity, Availability and Continuity Management - Ensure IT services have enough capacity to meet the demand of services agreed with the business. Ensure IT services are available according to agreed business needs and expectations.
8.Release and Deployment Management - Deliver new/updated IT Services in a structured and controlled way in alignment with PMO and best project delivery practices.
9.Manage IT Risk - Manage and update IT risk register and ensure all IT risks are assessed, mitigated and monitored.
10.Business Project Support - Support and input into business projects such as new websites/app or CRM project and specify, deliver, test and commission any infrastructure, environments, storage, network, and security requirements.
11.Infrastructure and System Architecture Roadmap - Provide technical direction, architect, develop and update on a periodic basis an Infrastructure and System Architecture roadmap to meet the business needs.
12.Deliver new and enhanced IT infrastructure - As per Infrastructure and System Roadmap specify design, build, test, secure, deploy and transition new and enhanced IT services.
13.Documentation - Create and maintain up to date technical documentation and standard operating procedures for team and end users use and when transitioning services to the IT Operations team.
The Senior IT System Architect, Infrastructure and Security Lead will require excellent expertise in the maintenance and delivery of IT infrastructure, environments, networks, Firewalls, connectivity, storage and platforms.
Qualifications
1.Educated to degree level in a relevant technology area.
2.A Microsoft MCSE Certification is desirable.
3.A security related certification would be desirable such as CISSP, CCISO, CISM and familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST, ISF, SANS, ISO27001.
4.An accredited IT Service Management (ITSM) qualification such as ITIL V3 Foundation Level, Prince 2 or PMP.
