Description

Corporate Communications Manager with extensive events management experience required for 5-6 month contract with public sector client in Edinburgh.

Duties will include:

  • Provide ongoing advice and comms support to an organisation-wide programme
  • Design, deliver and evaluate corporate and staff events including the bi-annual event for over 200 senior civil servants, quarterly events, Ministerial staff events and civil service-wide events
  • Provide advice, content and comms support to the Executive Team on an ongoing basis. This includes a weekly comms meeting and attendance at Boards, Directors' Network and other senior meetings.
  • Work closely with Corporate Services, using and commissioning data and analysis to inform and develop comms plans.
  • Manage content and effectiveness of a range of internal and external corporate channels ranging from leadership briefing notes to Twitter
  • Plan, draft and editing News content for staff Intranet
  • Handle media enquiries, FOIs and proactive publications
  • Play a key role in shaping and delivering internal communications across the organisation to support staff engagement and reputation management
  • Handle high profile and sensitive communications issues impacting on reputation (internally and externally)
  • Use insight, forward planning tools and evaluation to lead communications projects, producing communications strategies advising on the best methods to reach and influence audiences, including digital channels
  • Event management for a range of internal audiences
  • Comms handling advice and support for senior leaders attending external events or media engagements

Essential Skills:

  • Experience working at a senior level in an all-round comms role
  • Good events management experience
  • Experience of working in corporate and internal communications
  • Developing effective communications strategies and plans
  • Implementing effective communications strategies and plans
  • Assessing the impact and effectiveness of communication

Candidates will be required to either hold a valid basic Disclosure Scotland or be willing and able to apply prior to submission to the client.
