Job Title: Workshop Manual Author/Technician

Job Purpose:
To develop service workshop repair methods and accompanying labour times using a combination of CAD and actual vehicle layouts. In doing so ensure both cost effective and achievable repairs are developed to suit the customers service repair network. 
Main Responsibilities:
Where appropriate liaise with customers aftersales department

  • Utilise CAD data and software tools
  • Interpret both CAD data and technical specifications
  • Using a structured authoring environment devise easy to follow repair procedures
  • Create graphics to accompany repair procedures
  • Develop appropriate labour times
  • Carry out on-vehicle validation of major repairs

Person Specification:

  • Ideally have gained previous experience working in a service workshop environment
  • Experience of using electronic workshop manuals
  • Excellent working knowledge of modern vehicle systems and components
  • Good skills in both spoken and written English
  • IT and computer literate (Microsoft Suite)
  • Experience working with content management systems, XML editors
  • Where appropriate be capable of working remotely on the customer's site
  • Capable of managing and prioritising workload and working to deadlines
  • Able to identify areas for improvement within the finished material, and the processes used to create it
