Job Title: Workshop Manual Author/Technician
Job Purpose:
To develop service workshop repair methods and accompanying labour times using a combination of CAD and actual vehicle layouts. In doing so ensure both cost effective and achievable repairs are developed to suit the customers service repair network.
Main Responsibilities:
Where appropriate liaise with customers aftersales department
- Utilise CAD data and software tools
- Interpret both CAD data and technical specifications
- Using a structured authoring environment devise easy to follow repair procedures
- Create graphics to accompany repair procedures
- Develop appropriate labour times
- Carry out on-vehicle validation of major repairs
Person Specification:
- Ideally have gained previous experience working in a service workshop environment
- Experience of using electronic workshop manuals
- Excellent working knowledge of modern vehicle systems and components
- Good skills in both spoken and written English
- IT and computer literate (Microsoft Suite)
- Experience working with content management systems, XML editors
- Where appropriate be capable of working remotely on the customer's site
- Capable of managing and prioritising workload and working to deadlines
- Able to identify areas for improvement within the finished material, and the processes used to create it
