Description

This a great opportunity to work on content and large scale digital products used by millions of people every day. Our client is looking for content designers, the overall goal is to make content for their services simpler and more action-focussed, always starting with user needs.

Responsibilities:

You'll be asked to work on a number of projects.

Things you'll be doing include:

  • User needs analysis: Observing, working and analysing user needs from existing content, write and manage user needs, propose changes where necessary.
  • Transition phase: identify content gaps and overlaps based on user needs analysis, identify the appropriate content format for a topic area, for example flat page, tool, service etc. Be able to discuss and defend content decisions.
  • Ensure a high-quality user-focused approach: Ensuring content is relevant to the audience, easily understood and SEO optimised, review the work of other content designers to make sure consistency and excellence is maintained across the site.

Your skills

We're looking for people who can do the following:

  • Work in an agile environment with rapidly changing deadlines, workloads and goals
  • Be able to judge a good/bad user need
  • Turn user needs into easy to understand content
  • Write with the user in mind
  • Take complex language and processes and make them simple to understand
  • Judge the quality of medical source material
  • Explain your decisions/edits clearly
  • Build and manage relationships with non-digital people

Experience required

We're looking for people with the following experience:

  • Extensive experience of writing for the web, with proven ability to create content that is accessible and usable
  • Exceptional skills in convincing people that user needs and a usable approach are the only way to present information
  • Proven experience in using metrics and user feedback to define/refine content
  • Proven experience of working within a web application development environment, proficient in writing Markdown, picture sourcing and editing
  • Experience in choosing the best format for displaying information to the user
  • Experience in working with content publishing systems

Duration: Initial 16 weeks + extensions as required. You need to be available to be available to work all 16 weeks of project, no holidays are allowed within this period.

Location: London

Pay rates: up to £450 per day
