Description

HHRUK are looking for an experienced Communications Officer for a role for a public sector client.

Job Purpose

The role holder will support the Programme Communications Manager, specifically on the HR and Finance programme.
The person will also work closely with the various project managers within the Programme Management office, with the Internal Communications Manager, Project Owners/Sponsors and with other operational and communications staff as needed.
Working closely with the Programme Communication Manager and Project Managers, the post holder will prepare and revise communications material and work with stakeholders to ensure successful programme delivery.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Work with colleagues to review communication objectives for the HR and Finance programme and link into the overarching co-ordinated communication plan.
As part of this plan, map stakeholders and stakeholder communication needs and identify appropriate tactics and channels of communication for the programme.
Analyse and segment the internal audience, planning communications tactics, messages and channels appropriate to each.
Ability to deliver communication content under tight deadlines and advise on appropriate channels.
Track effectiveness of these communication activities including reviewing audience perceptions and reactions and taking action where needed.
Evaluate and report upon outcomes against communications objectives

Experience:

Essential -
Experience of developing and delivering communication programmes/projects, both internal and external, using a wide variety of tools and techniques to meet communication objectives.
Experience of advising on effective communications approaches and tactics.
Background of working with senior management and heads of department.
Extensive copywriting, editing and proofreading experience across all formats including print and online publications, web content, video scripts, and social media.
Adobe Creative Suite - particularly Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere
Sharepoint Designer and Intranet page editing

Desirable -
Experience of both public sector and commercial business working environments.
Experience of working within an organisation undergoing significant organisational change.
Experience of briefing and managing the work of external suppliers such as digital developers and graphic designers.
Basic understanding of HTML coding/tags
