Content Designer - 6 month contract - North London
Purpose of Job:
- Own the digital customer experience for a number of service areas, developing an excellent understanding of the strategic and policy priorities in those areas and be a trusted advisor to the service
- Run projects that bring multiple experts together, adopting the Agile approach to service delivery, delivering results through sprints
- Design and conduct user research and lead its translation into content design
- Design content for the council's digital platforms, ensuring that all information is timely, accurate and fit for purpose. Embarking on a continuous and iterative content refresh across the most complained-about pages, enhancing discoverability and content, analysing and implementing best practice for content design, user experience (UX), and customer journeys in relation to all content updates, working towards an inclusive digital by default' customer experience, checking for and implementing AA accessibility across all content.
- Helping to enhance the profile and reputation and supporting the implementation of the customer transformation programme.
- Working with the Web Manager to develop the Internet and Intranet strategies and develop websites as required

Essential Requirements:
- A proven track record of working successfully in government or local government digital services
- A good understanding of the issues facing local government
- High levels of IT literacy, including: familiarity with content management systems; web graphics software; web development software; and XML, CSS, XHTML
- Knowledge of public sector web standards; and best practice in website design and the use of social media
- Degree at BA level
