Description

Sopra Steria Recruitment is working in partnership with a major public sector client in the UK. We are currently recruiting Communications Admin to be based in London for an initial period of 12 months with the opportunity to extend for a further 6 months to a max 2 years

Job Title: Communications Admin
IR35 Scope: In Scope
The Maximum Pay Rate/Not including any fees just payable to candidate: 115 Umbrella
Location: Swindon
Travel: 1 day per week to London + ad-hoc for meetings, and potentially overseas
Contract Length: ASAP - 12 months (Option to extend on an annual basis)

Clearance Level Required: BPSS (DS) - Baseline Personnel Security Standard (with a Disclosure Scotland)

Essential:
Educated to first degree level or professional qualification or relevant experience

Strong communications skills as evidenced by:
Considerable experience of working in communications or research support and promotion
Demonstrable experience of working with sensitive and complex issues
Demonstrable experience of effectively engaging with diverse groups using a range of approaches
An ability to quickly absorb and communicate complex information.
Stakeholder engagement skills demonstrated by:
Experience of working with external stakeholders (ideally with international partners, senior academics, policy makers and practitioners)
a demonstrable ability to influence and persuade others, to work with people at all levels and to build good relations with them

Excellent, succinct writing skills including:
Case studies
Press releases and news stories
Articles and features
Website content
Social media
Experience of proactive and reactive engagement with national and regional UK media in a press office environment
Experience of developing compelling communications content and materials

Delivering at pace as demonstrated by:
Drive, determination and ability to work flexibly and a creative approach to problem solving
An ability to manage tight deadlines, work independently, to multi-task, prioritise workloads and operate effectively within a team and project environment.
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work comfortably within a team environment.
General PC skills, including a good working knowledge of MS Office packages (ie Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email and use of the Internet as a search tool are a prerequisite of the post.
