Description

You wiil be responsible for a team of Web Designers, producing strategies and direction. Disseminating expertise of how design decisions impact accessibility both internally and externally. Work as part of a multi-disciplined team to design user focussed and successful services. Deliver designs that meet web standards, ensuring that key elements are built in from the outset. Contributing to the development and continual enhancement of products. Partnering with colleagues to facilitate a consistent user experience. Building relationships and work effectively with external providers, for example user testing and user experience professionals. Communicating credibly with a wide range of digital delivery disciplines and talent both internally and externally.

Work on the Data Security & Protection Toolkit (the Re-Designed IG Toolkit) project. Review the design work already undertaken and guide the future design work in accordance with the Government Digital Service Standard. Ensure we get the best system for users of the Data Security and Protection Toolkit, by enabling clear user journeys reflected in the system. Use the insights of user researchers following their contact with the diverse user group. Act as a design bridge between the user research/project team and development team based in Exeter. The Programme team is based in Leeds, whilst the Development team is based in SSD in Exeter. Preference for the designer to be based with the Development Team in Exeter, or able to travel there regularly for face-to-face interaction with the Development Team.

Demonstrable knowledge and passion for user-centred design practices for both public facing and internal services and applications.
