Description

I am currently looking for a Senior Scientist Preclinical Development for Animal Health (m/f) for a German pharma company in ECM (Arbeitnehmerüberlassung). The position is full-time (40 hours) based close to Mainz/Germany, starting on the 1st of January 2019 until 31st of December 2019.

Scope of Work:

- Design safety programs and accordingly plan, conduct and evaluate inhouse studies in laboratory, companion and food animal species according to GLP guidelines, e.g., pharmacokinetics, toxicity, metabolism, and residue depletion, as well as manage equivalent outsourced studies
- Compile and evaluate pharmacological and toxicological profiles including literature search of chemical substances with regard to target animal safety as well as human exposure and risk
- Scientifically support Research and Development with regard to existing and new products (and Global Marketing/Technical Services, Commercial, as needed)
- Compile expert reports, other scientific texts and presentations in English for interaction with regulatory authorities worldwide, in journals and on congresses
- Maintain and extend contact to external experts, contract research organizations and universities
- Act as preclinical representative in international multidisciplinary project teams

Qualifications:

- Completed studies in Veterinary Medicine, conferral of a doctorate preferred
- First Research and Development experience, preferably in international veterinary pharmaceutical industry
- Experience in directing animal studies, preferably according to GLP
- Profound knowledge in pharmacology, metabolism and toxicology
- Experience in pharmacokinetic and metabolic evaluation of active substances
- Precise, analytical and creative work approach to problem solving
- Fluent in English (written/spoken) and very good German language skills
