Description

Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit Head of Communications for an initial 6 month contract - with the potential to extend - on a rate of £500/day (inside of IR35). Due to the current circumstances this role will be remote based for the foreseeable future.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee the development and implementation of the marketing and advertising campaign.
- Plan and deliver strategic proactive media relations activity, working with PR agencies, and managing reactive communications and incident planning.
- Direct line management of two members of staff, overseeing and guiding key elements of their work.
- You may also be asked to provide occasional support to communications colleagues with stakeholder and community engagement, and deputise for the Head of Communications and Engagement as required.

Essential Skills:
- Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience of working in a high profile communications environment.
- Demonstrable experience of leading teams in a complex stakeholder environment, balancing competing priorities, deadlines and people resources.
- Strong organisational skills with clear evidence of strategic planning or project management.
- Ability to build constructive relationships and collaborative opportunities with stakeholders and staff at all levels while working flexibly as part of a team.
- A good understanding of integrated, insight driven communications work. You must be able to demonstrate excellent oral and written skills and be able to communicate complex and technical information confidently with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
