UX User Researcher - Hiring ASAP
Location: Remote working with 1 day a week in Twycross office
Duration: 18 months initial contract with a view to extend
Daily Rate: £250 per day

Summary
We are looking for a User Researcher who will be responsible for driving insight in key areas including new in-game features and experiences, user interfaces (UI) and live service quality.
As a User Researcher at Rare, you'll be working with a multi-disciplinary Insights team including data scientists and analysts, as well as collaborating closely with UX/UI designers and engineers. Stakeholders will include game designers, producers and engineers, with whom you'll work to develop user insight findings that help bring focus and clarity to our decision-making process.
We welcome applicants from industries outside gaming, including those with experience in digital products and services.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver qualitative studies to help improve our understanding of features and in-game experiences, using methods such as (but not limited to):
- Diary studies
- Focus groups
- Playtesting/usability studies
- Collaborate with gameplay and UX/UI designers by utilising information architecture techniques and agile qualitative research methods to improve our in-game experiences early on in development.
- Design and deliver surveys, partnering closely with the central user research team to present findings to the wider team.
- Deliver insights to a variety of stakeholders, ranging from designers to developers, to help improve our understanding of the player experience.
- Collaborate with other studios and teams on user research best practices for digital experiences and games.
Key Skills
- Demonstrable experience in designing and delivering user research studies, including survey design and qualitative research methods.
- An understanding of bringing early user research value to products and services, including working with low-fidelity prototypes developed by UX/UI designers.
- Experience in delivering insights and recommendations to a variety of stakeholders.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Must have skills:
- It's more of a creative role, but should be able to talk to qualitative and quantitative
- Experience designing surveys, running a focus groups/a set of interviews
- If they have more User Research than design experience would be an advantage (working with a UX/UI designer previously).
- They will be quite autonomous; they will be the matter expert to come up with what will bring the best experience to that feature.
- Background with a Studio would be a win; just digital product experience ASOS level experience would be a big win.
