RF Design Engineer - Devon - 6 Month+ ContractRF Design Engineer is required for a 6 month contract to join one of our clients in South Devon. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced RF Design Engineer working on the design and layout of designs involving discrete components and MMICs.

Rates - £35 - £40 per hour

Candidate Description:
The successful candidate will have worked in an RF design/development role in the radio industry for at least 10 years. It is important that he/she:
- Has an excellent grasp of fundamental RF techniques
- Can demonstrate a first class track record in delivering RF designs into volume production
- Is a skilled user of modern RF design aids e.g. ADS, CST, HFSS, etc and laboratory test equipment
- Is able to interpret international radio specifications and assess their impact on design choices
- Is able to communicate well with other members of the design team and overall company in both words and written reports
- Is willing and able to help sort out problems in integration and to support production debug in the event of problems.
This job will involve some or all of the following tasks for new products.
- Liaison with the System Architect and the Systems Team to agree specifications for the RF sections of new designs
- Liaison with the Regulatory team to understand the implications of global regulations
- RF System design of Transmitters and Receivers
Liaison with the digital design team to agree interfaces to the modem circuits.
- Agreeing the choice of components with the NPI and Supply Chain teams
- Agreeing the requirements for production test and calibration and generating test specification details
- Agreeing DVT requirements with the Systems DVT team, reviewing results and implementing appropriate design improvements
- Training the production test personnel and the production support engineering team
