Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Qualified Accountant with strong financial reporting experience to join a forward thinking, successful business; supporting the delivery of external group financial reporting.

Purpose:

The successful candidate will join a dynamic team responsible for the production of external financial reporting, results and annual reports.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Preparing reports and presentations, analysing financial results and financial reporting matters (including the interaction of accounting and actuarial data)
  • Supporting the production of quarterly external financial reporting, half yearly results announcement and annual report and accounts.
  • Project management of group finance deliverables, drafting wording to be included in the reports (including the GFD report of the Annual accounts), calculation and validation of data (specifically the reconciliation of IFRS to EEV results) and liaising with External Communications team
  • Acting as a key liaison for the external auditors and coordinate the provision of key deliverables to assist their audits
  • Leading first line risk team for group finance to ensure all risk management activities are fully Embedded
  • Leading the delivery of risk reporting for Finance as required
  • Leading the design and implementation of a Financial Reporting Control Framework
  • Reviewing FRCF documentation produced by management and review/challenge where appropriate
  • Effectively communicating FRCF to key stakeholders

Desired Experience:

The successful candidate will possess a professional accounting qualification, ideally with post qualification experience within big 4 audit or alternatively be working in a similar role within the financial services/insurance industry.

  • Strong presentation and communication skills, especially the ability to communicate complex issues simply and effectively

  • Strong Analytical skills and Attention to detail
  • Strong report writing skills
  • Significant experience of preparing and/or auditing financial statements

  • Project management
