Description
Overview:This is a Senior Technical position reporting directly to Engineering Design Management. Responsibilities of this position will include the ability to work on complex PCB (Printed Circuit Board)/PFC (Printed Flexible Circuit) design requirements with minimum supervision while exemplifying a high degree of organization, motivation and technical skill. It will be necessary to work with various functional Teams dealing directly with technical staff, sales marketing, users, customers and others to ensure that the goals and objectives are properly identified and achieved within the appropriate schedule requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for complex PCB/PFC designs of high complexity and electronic packaging solutions as part of the Design Team of the Engineering Services organization.
- Create and maintain control and release electronic CAD/CAM files or documentation suitable for use in fabrication, manufacture and test of engineering prototypes and production PCB/PFC.
- Analytical skills commensurate with requests to recommend and validate alternatives to interconnection solutions, suitability of electronic parts, mechanical design, PCB/PFC fabrication and manufacturing techniques required on new products.
- Requires good communication skills and presentation abilities to provide written and verbal reports to management and multi-functional product development teams.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and delegate more minor tasks to others.
- Participation on Program Teams in order to provide expertise in the areas of scheduling requirements, current design principles, new packaging technologies/techniques, initiate and support design requirements from prototype into production.
- Participation on Functional Teams to review and update technical documentation referring to procedures, specifications and process manuals
- Coordination of and participation in Team meetings for PCB/PFC DFM reviews
- Liaison with External Design resources, Fabrication Vendors or Contract Manufacturers to coordinate efforts, answer questions or resolve issues on PCB/PFC prototype or production builds
- May serve in a lead role in the PCB areas of a large project or complex project task.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the Project planning and management will be necessary to ensure efficient and timely completion of all requirements.
- Two year degree or equivalent emphasizing Electro Mechanical Engineering or electronic packaging and PCB/PFC engineering principles.
- Minimum of five years of design experience working with Electronics, PCB/PFC Design and Electronic Packaging.
- Knowledge of signal integrity design constraints encompassing differential pairs, impedance control, high speed, EMI and ESD a plus
- Knowledge of IPC industry guidelines and standards relating to PCB/PFC inclusive of materials, design, fabrication, assembly, test and qualification.
- Direct experience in use of CAE/CAD tools (minimum 5 years)
- Experience on Cadence Allegro Design Entry HDL, Allegro Designer, Allegro Expert and Constraint Manager are highly desirable.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint are highly desirable.
- Experience with Agile and Web Based tools a plus
