Description

Summary
  • Supports platform job owners in NPI and Maintenance of the Core owned groups in EACs.
  • The level of work requires an experienced engineer full time to produce line drawing groups and N-size Arrangement drawings and all system interactions to accomplish them.
  • Work also includes Team Center process submittals, protection of BOM structure and analysing for efficient print implementation of common components on multiple engines.

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop prints for engines, machines and other mechanical devices.
  • Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects.
  • Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools, equipment or software.
  • Conceives and provides practical product design applications using technical skills for bills of materials (BOM), engine information systems such as serialization, model assignment and specification selection.
  • Creates, concepts and directs the design and development of engine group prints. Including coordination of cost reduction changes, new product introductions and new L5/L6 customer requests for Engine Arrangement Completes.
  • Coordinates with L3 design engineers who contribute components to core owned groups.
  • Supports L4 Job Owners with core owned groups in correct bill of materials format and content.
  • Evaluates, defines and resolves design of BOM structure problems when producing EACs.
  • Use technical expertise and product knowledge to play a leadership role to interface with checkers and detailers for the group prints in his/her responsibility.
  • Verify compatibility of top level BOM groups and coordinate VDRA resolution actions of owned groups.

Skills and Competencies:
  • Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.
  • Team player and detail oriented. Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports.
  • Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
  • Five to seven years engineering experience required.
  • 1 to 4 years of experience in preparing prints for releasing in EDS and coordination with Checking.
  • High level of proficiency in Pro-E modelling.
  • Strong capability in Team Center systems and CN package creation.
  • Must have a good mechanical aptitude with ability to develop product concepts.
  • At least 2 years in progressive engineering assignments to gain a mastery of complex engineering engine concepts.
  • Requires good communication skills both verbal and written.
