Senior Maintenance Engineer

Our client based in Waterford is seeking to recruit a Senior Maintenance Engineer with responsibility for supporting Operations/Maintenance requirements. It is one of the largest manufacturers of Turbo Impellers worldwide. The facility produces impellers from Nickel super-alloy steel and high-grade Aluminium. Its manufacturing processes encompass areas such as moulding, casting, finishing, machining and tooling.

This role is for the duration of 12 months, with the possibility of becoming permanent

Responsibilities:

  • Lead deployment of Total Productive Maintenance systems within specific business unit.
  • Development of preventative & predictive maintenance systems.
  • Development of maintenance training systems.
  • Support the design, development, and evaluation of engineering projects, offering innovative solutions to technical problems.
  • Documentation and validation of projects/equipment & develop the sites validation process for maintenance engineering.
  • Lead problem solving/failure mode analysis of equipment downtime and develop systems to ensure key KPI's are achieved.
  • Support management of our front line maintenance personnel through training.
  • Support site energy system.
  • Development of spares reduction program through the use of TPM concepts.
  • Execute site key CAPEX projects.
  • Support sites OHSAS18001 through equipment risk assessment.

Skills & Experience:

  • Ability to manage projects and changing priorities; make sound decisions under pressure, and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong process validation & documentation management.
  • Proficient time management skills with the ability to close initiatives & actions on time and within budget.
  • Strong budget management.
  • Strong working knowledge of lean systems (5,s,Visual Mgt, Total Productive Maintenance, Standardize work)
  • Strong working knowledge on Electrical, Mechanical systems (Ability to design systems)
  • The successful candidate will exhibit a can do, proactive attitude with a demonstrated a strong work-ethic and drive & should also possess excellent problem solving abilities.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong ability to be proactive and must be result orientated.

Education:

  • 3rd level Engineering/Technology Honours/Master qualification is essential.
  • Experience working in high pace manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of CAD packages (ie AutoCAD, Solid Works).
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or other Lean Manufacturing Qualifications a distinct advantage.
  • Strong experience in project management.
