Description
Summary:- This position supports the Engineering and designing of electrical systems for new and existing restaurants.
- Candidate will look at drawings for about 3-4 US restaurants daily, do prototypes, and answer questions from the field. Outside engineering firms do the main design, but they may need clarification or have questions. Help and assist on about 5 projects/day.
- Review plans, make sure they meet standards and codes.
- This will be more of a support/review/quality control role. Design comes in during the prototype work.
- Address questions to support PMs.
The successful candidate should have:
- Commercial building electrical design experience in low voltage power distribution systems and electrical construction methods
- Commercial building design experience in lighting design.
- Experience and knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70), NFPA, Building Codes and electrical safety standards
- Experience using AutoCad (2008 or later preferred) for work on prototyping, would not be designing a building from scratch.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working under a licensed Professional Engineer
- Graduated from ABET accredited engineering program in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (F.E./E.IT)
- Eligible to sit for Principles and Practice of Engineering exam (P.E.) or has recently acquired Professional Engineering License
- Familiarity with Model Energy Codes and Software (COMcheck, ASHRAE 90.1, IECC)
- Experience in/knowledge of advance sustainable technologies and energy efficiency
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Revit skills are a plus
- Engineering degree preferred
- PE license preferred, but not required
