My client, a leading multinational bank, is looking for an experienced product controller to come and join their Rates Product control team
Job Description:
- Analyse financial information and prepare financial reports to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, or other financial activities within an organization.
- Technical skills include the ability to provide guidance to clients on assets. Significant independent judgment is used with some general direction given by supervisor.
Key Competencies:
- Prepare, examine or analyze accounting records, financial statements or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards
- Prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports
- Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems
- Regular responsibilities include the following: Daily Profit and Loss Reporting, Daily Balance Sheet allocations, Daily report generation, Daily option and swap settlements, Monthly Profit and Loss reporting, Monthly Denied Loss calculations, Monthly account reconciliations, and data entry
- May lead and direct the work of others
Knowledge and Experience:
- Degree in accounting, related financial discipline, or equivalent education/experience (Required)
- Ideally a qualified or part qualified accoutant (Preferred)
- Proven financial and/or accounting experience (Required) Skills and Competencies:
- Verbal and written communication skills (Required)
- Ability to apply accounting and mathematical principles to work as needed (Required)
- Ability to analyze business trends and project future revenues and expenses (Required)
- Advanced knowledge of government and company policies, procedures and regulations as related to accounting (Required)
- Demonstrated knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP; Required)
- Advanced user proficiency with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, spreadsheet/financial accounting skills, and any other related accounting software (Required)
- Basic user proficiency with MS Project (Required)
- Basic user proficiency with MS Access (Preferred)
