Working for a major IT company on one of their key accounts.

Overview
The "Goc Operations & Monitoring" team provides 24x7, 365 days a year operational monitoring and support functions to support HP Infrastructure. The team works 12 hour shifts including nights and weekends.

Role Description
Working within the 24x7 UK Operations Centre providing primarily Unix/Linux L1/L2 triage and support functions. This role will help to develop your technical and organizational skills within a multi-client IT environment. You will also be providing L1 reporting and support for infrastructure and database backup environment 24x7.

Applies developed storage subject matter knowledge to solve a variety of common business issues within established guidelines. Working with L3 specialists to develop ability to handle more complex business issues.

Essential Skills/Experience
Strong knowledge of distributed Midrange environment. (Unix/Linux/Solaris/Redhat)
Sound understanding of associated technologies (Storage & Backup, Database, Active Directory, Networking).
Sound understanding of ITIL methodology and processes.
Service/Client oriented team player.

Desirable Skills/Experience
ITIL V3 foundation
Working Knowledge of HP OM, DDMI, or equivalent infrastructure tooling
Scripting, or a programming languages
Good understanding of high availability environments
VMware
