Description

We are currently recruiting for Commercial Manager to work in Bristol.

This is a contract role paying £300 - £330p/d Ltd and is initially a 6 month contract.

Main Responsibilities:

*Supporting the development of the Function, including the attendance of meetings/briefings
*Working collaboratively across the Functions/Programmes to deliver outputs/services
*Driving consistency, efficiencies and harmonisation across standard programme process
*Sharing lessons learned across the programmes and the Commercial Function on a regular basis
*The performance of Commercial activities required to support the Programme Leads/Line Manager in the delivery of outputs as directed by the Portfolio Office, including the clarification of prioritises with your Line Manager if unclear
*Supporting the development and implementation of procurement strategies that comply with departmental commercial policy, including applicable government sourcing strategies, key contractor strategies and other initiatives
*In conjunction with PT colleagues, monitoring contractor performance in terms of performance, cost and time and promptly addressing areas of identified non-compliance through negotiation of appropriate consideration
*Administering contract pricing and payment
*Maintenance of compliance matrixes for existing contracts
*Identify and implement measures that will improve contract performance
*Ensuring required standards for commercial performance are maintained across the post holder's area of responsibility, specifically policies relating to the development of procurement and commercial strategies and management of commercial arrangements are complied with
*Maintaining local commercial processes, ensuring processes are applied consistently and efficiently and are cognisant of extant policies, applicable best practice and learning from experience
*Providing commercial representation at PO meetings as required
*Supporting the development and management of project plans that are cognisant of commercial policy and processes

Essential Experience:

*Commercial experience, at least equivalent to the substantive C1 grade
*Public sector and/or Defence experience
*Ability to build professional and effective relationships quickly, noting that existing relationships with key suppliers can be very challenging
*Price and cost analysis of tenders/bids/proposals to ensure Value for Money is delivered
*Knowledge of EU procurement regulations, particularly around Single-Source vs competitive procurement.
*Qualification to MCIPS is desirable
