Description

Role: Supply Chain /Production Planner

Location – Cork, Ireland

Type – initially 6 month contract



Reporting to the Supply Chain Director the role will be responsible for supply planning and inventory management of key products on site. The role also encompasses New Product Introduction (NPI) planning activities.  

 

Key Responsibilities:



- Managing the forecasting and supply of all materials required to support API and Sterile production areas.

- Ensure compliance with cGMP, EHS and other business compliance regulations

- Planning, procurement and inventory management activities for 4 key products.

- Ensure on time supply of Commercial and NPI products to Global customer base.

- Global planning support for a top 10 product (coordinating planning activities across multi sites to ensure continuous supply for this product line)

- Collaboration with multiple site functions (e.g. Quality, Logistics) to ensure visibility to customer and market requirements.

- Inventory management (levels, cost, inventory turns, aging, reporting)

- Planning for New Product Introductions (e.g. material availability, production planning, capacity analysis)

- Responsible for capacity planning and alignment with Capacity Planning models.

- Identify continuous improvement activities to increase flexibility, eliminate waste, reduce cycle times, inventory and cost

- Responsible for supporting a culture of Continuous Improvement by deploying Merck Six Sigma tools



Key Experience:



- Experience in planning / procurement activities is mandatory.

- Demonstrated knowledge in supply chain or operations role in the Pharmaceutical industry or a similar operating industry

- Demonstrated leadership and change management skills with a continuous improvement focus.

- Capability to interact and communicate with all levels of business leadership and operational teams

- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development (3rd level qualification).

- Desirable:  Six Sigma Yellow / Green Belt.

- MRP / PC Skills: MS Excel, Word, MS Project, etc

- Strong organizational skill set

- Demonstrated ability to realize improvement initiatives.

- Demonstrated successes in a team environment, such as project teams, Six Sigma team, PITs etc.

- Solid business acumen with strong analytical and problem solving skills
