To safeguard information system assets by identifying and solving potential/actual security problems. The IT Security Specialist will lead in the development and implementation of security policies and procedures, security risk analysis scenarios, response procedures and formally documented security controls,
The role holder will review security violation reports and enforce security policies and procedures across the organisation, investigate potential security exceptions, manage day-to-day security administration procedures, and keep management appropriately informed of all pertinent security matters and issues.
Demonstrable experience in System Administration, Network Security, Problem Solving, Information Security Policies, Process Improvement, Strategic Planning, Problem Solving, Analysing Information
Experience in protecting intellectual property data and working with 3rd parties to establish robust solutions to further protect
Experience of working within Financial Services desired though not essential
The most important requirement of the function is the ability to investigate, research and solve problems in administrative or specialist areas. The incumbent should be competitive by nature and have the drive to achieve results through persistence. The job calls for a person who likes to work in areas which carry freedom to act, enables independent decisions to be made, and allows the individual to determine the work pace. Ideally, this will be a person who is self-reliant, somewhat authoritative, self-controlled, tenacious, organised, strong-willed and independent. A thoughtful, reflective, questioning approach that requires concentration is also indicated as a requirement of the role.
Desirable
Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, GIAC, ISO27001 with desired experience of Active Directory, Penetrative/Vulnerability testing, Endpoint Security solutions, Networks, Firewalls and Ethical Hacking
