*Financial Controller - South West - Initially 4 Months - Up to £640pd Ltd*
Advantage Resourcing are currently working with a leading defence organisation who are actively recruiting for a Financial Controller to manage their finance function.
This excellent opportunity will hold responsibilities such as:
- Leading on preparation of in year monthly forecast data and budget variance explanations
- Reviewing, challenge and consolidate project forecasts before submission
- Providing advice and guidance to the finance team on scrutiny and investment appraisals per the organisations policy
- Assisting and advising on preparation of investment Appraisals and business cases and monitoring financial assurance, and keeping to the timetable.
- Advising on and assisting with preparation of financial data for major business case submissions (check, review and challenge)
- Managing the finance team of accounts assistants and accountants
- Approving material transactions (journals)
- Supporting (and deputise for if required) the finance lead in the area
- Collating and updating quarterly costings for planning purposes (10 year plan) and input into the long term plan
- Lead on preparation of audit evidence pack for year end audit
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification
- Experience or working within the defence industry would be ideal
- Extensive budgeting and forecasting experience
- Strong experience of managing a large complex finance function
- Have excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with all levels within an organisation
- Have solid IT skills, including strong excel knowledge
