Overview

The Visa Europe Finance team works with the business to provide relevant management information, analysis and insight to drive business decisions. In addition they aim to ensure that appropriate controls are maintained and that all financial statutory & regulatory requirements are achieved.

This role is within the Procurement Function of Finance, Visa Europe Procurement department's role is to secure the best value for money for Visa Europe through considerations of cost, service and quality.

As the Senior Procurement (Non-IT) Lead you will be responsible for:

  • Management of a team (currently 2, however may increase) to provide sourcing and procurement support to various division within Visa Europe, assisting senior management to effectively and efficiently manage expenditure with suppliers to achieve their strategic business goals.

  • Leading integration from a Non-IT perspective reporting directly into Head of Procurement

  • Supporting the business in determining and managing the sourcing strategy for a designated range of categories (Marketing, Professional Services, HR & Corporate Services) of expenditure and providing commercial leadership in all sourcing related activities and procurement processes for those categories.

  • Acting as a category centre of expertise to the business in supplier and contract management and contribute to the wider strategic planning of the Procurement function.

  • Acting as a business partner to a key divisions (Marketing, HR, CS, PS, Risk & Legal) within Visa Europe, performing as an integral part of the divisional leadership team, helping to formulate sourcing strategies which support the business goals and assisting with any strategic decision making that requires procurement input.
  • Maintaining detailed knowledge and understanding of the division's business drivers and have a comprehensive understanding of how this fits into the overall Visa Europe business strategy.
  • Advising the divisions on procurement policies, processes and best practice, providing support as required
  • Leading the planning and prioritisation activities of the categories to ensure that the most important opportunities in terms of business needs, cost savings and risk mitigation are delivered and that the right priorities are selected.
  • Leading and driving key sourcing activities for major corporate or divisional projects ensuring that they are delivered on time and to budget with appropriate risk management.
  • Maintaining an holistic view across Visa Europe, identifying opportunities for consolidation of business requirements across Visa Europe and managing integration of stakeholder needs through engagement.
  • Developing and maintain long-term relationships with key existing strategic suppliers and identify potential new partners within categories of responsibility.
  • Managing and ensuring compliance to the Visa Europe sourcing process, acting as a champion and internal consultant for each stage and subsequent Challenge Point processes.
  • Signing off category strategies, plans, sourcing pipelines and commit to saving targets developed by the Sourcing Teams.
  • Reviewing sourcing activities to ensure compliance with procurement policy and process, challenging non-compliant areas of the division as required.
  • Owning, manage and track cost savings targets, policy compliance, adherence to the Visa Europe sourcing process and customer service for the categories managed.
  • Acting as an escalation point for the Sourcing Teams, guiding and supporting them through particularly complex and challenging negotiations, dispute resolutions and senior stakeholder management.
  • Leading, coaching and developing the Sourcing Teams to drive a high performance culture, motivating and inspiring the team to deliver and exceed against performance objectives.
  • Contributing to the wider Procurement team and represent Procurement on key change programmes and leadership forums across Visa Europe.
  • Leading transformation workstreams to raise procurement capability across Visa Europe.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience in Category Management across all non IT-Categories (Marketing, Professional Services, HR & Corporate Services)
  • Experience in engaging with challenging senior stakeholders to understand business requirements and to define and implement the category strategies, plans and processes for sourcing goods and services within relevant categories.
  • Experience in integration of two organisations, such as delivering MI requirements, identifying procurement synergies, leading sourcing and people workstreams.
  • Management experience (performance review process, coaching, leadership)
  • Qualifications to degree level, ideally in a business or legal discipline
  • Ideally a minimum ten years sourcing experience in complex markets, preferably in the Payment Industry or Financial Services sector
  • Proven capability in negotiating complex sourcing deals with many non-price variables
  • High levels of subject matter expertise, with deep market and supplier knowledge
  • Good supplier and contract management experience
  • Influencing skills and senior stakeholder management (with credibility up to CxO level)
  • Excellent team leadership and communication skills
  • Good procurement transformation experience and change leadership capability

It is also desirable but not essential to have:

  • Experience in using Ariba Sourcing tools
  • CIPS
  • Postgraduate procurement accreditation preferred (MCIPS or MIIAPS)
  • Outsourcing, offshoring and joint venture experience
