FPA Accountant - Financial Accountant - Finance Analyst - Banking - Financial Planning
We are looking for the services of an Executive Decision Support Manager to join a financial services team, based in Edinburgh. The role provides the successful candidate with an overarching view of the client's future business and numerous opportunities to work with its key stakeholders. It will involve understanding, analysing and explaining current year numbers and forecasts and undertaking longer term planning and scenario analysis to deliver in-depth understanding of Business Unit performance, operations, market, competitors, risk and funding.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide robust insight into performance, both against our internal targets and from an external perspective. Provide commentary, briefings and updates for the CEO, CFO & Head of Finance.
- To be integral in the financial processes, working closely with Finance/Treasury/Risk stakeholders.
- Managing relationships across Finance/Treasury/Risk as well as driving and embedding a continuous improvement culture.
- Liaise with client FPA on current performance, forecasts and longer term planning.
- Identify/analyse trends across new venture in order to understand business drivers, thus providing an informed and robust challenge.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of the subject matter, clearly distil & articulate outputs & conclusions through analysis and commercial insight.
- Ensure awareness and understanding of emerging issues in the business that may impact financial performance or require finance support.
- Regularly review analysis, economics and markets reports, to be aware of key issues for inclusion in briefing documents.
Criteria
- Strong FPA experience
- Qualified Accountant
- Decision support experience - this will be supporting executives directly
- End to End PL Experience
- Strong Business performance reporting background
- Broad Banking knowledge- Ideally Retail and corporate
