Description

Our client is looking for a Senior Medical Information Officer to join them on a contract basis for an initial 3 months. This may be extended. The start date is 1st February, the daily rate is up to £400.00 depending on experience and the job details are below - please contact me today to discuss!

ROLE PURPOSE:

To provide a proactive, comprehensive, accurate and timely medical information service to company's external (health care professional) and internal (Account Managers (AMs), medical, marketing) customers. ROLE

Compliance and Governance
  • Ensure Medical Information activities are in line and comply with the ABPI Code of Practice.
  • Responsible for handling enquiries, in line with local and global procedures and systems.
  • Responsible for effectively communicating changes to the SPCs and Patient Information Leaflets for the product portfolio.


Copy Approval
  • Responsible for technical input into the concept of product promotional material.
  • Act as an internal reviewer in the promotional copy approval process, ensuring that scientific and medical data are quoted accurately, that references are appropriate, current and accurately cited and to comment on general aspects of Code compliance.
  • Assist in preparing the medical case for the defense/challenge of promotional activities for ABPI when necessary.
  • Leverage scientific/customer insights to enhance promotional material.


Medical Information
  • Provide a proactive, comprehensive, accurate and timely medical information service to external (healthcare professionals) customers and internal staff members in line with industry standards.
  • Prepare and maintain all medical information standard letters and Q&As for Product(s).
  • Assist in the administration of the Medical Information document and enquiry management system
  • Participate in out-of-hours emergency Medical Information service on product portfolio.


REQUIREMENTS:

Ideal:

*A Life Science graduate, with at least 2-3 years work experience, involving Medical Information

Comfortable working within a commercially-focused environment

Possessing good oral and written communication skills

*A proficient user of standard MS Office software and of Medical Information support systems

*A working knowledge of the ABPI Code of Practice and promotional copy approval is essential

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
  • Hands on Medical Information experience (minimum 2-3 years in a Pharma environment)
  • Fully conversant with the ABPI Code of Practice
  • Knowledge and understanding of Pharmacovigilance legislation
