My amazing client in Atlanta is looking for Linux Server Engineer for a long term 2+ year contract.
My client is searching for a Linux Server Engineer to support, maintain and monitor a large server environment and its relevant applications. This includes the operating system (Red Hat Linux), hardware, and applications. The applicant must have good communication skills and a vast knowledge in system troubleshooting and support.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
This team is responsible for a 4000 server Linux infrastructure as well as tools such as DNS, LDAP, Spacewalk, Katello, Splunk, Zenoss, and RHEV.
Infrastructure includes hardware, operation systems, and basic SAN, networking, and security.
Tune operating system and hardware for optimal performance.
Monitor Servers and applications for errors and performance problems.
Monitor and resolve any problems that may arise from the distribution or installation
Requirements:
7+ years of related experience (Linux systems administration and problem solving) Experience in a multi-tiered, distributed and diverse infrastructure and in environments that are larger than 500 Servers
High level of experience in systems and network problem solving
7+ years of computer hardware experience with a strong background in rack mount Servers
7+ years of fundamental networking and network troubleshooting skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work with minimal direction, yet able to work in a team environment
Advanced knowledge of OS troubleshooting, Kernel tweaking, and system automation
Preferred:
RHCSA/RHCE certification
VMWare/RHEV experience
