Release Manager
Duration: Initial 6 months
Location: Hemel Hempstead
Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be willing to undergo a SC security clearance process.
EXCLUSIVE OPPORTUNITY: Sopra Steria Recruitment Ltd (a Sopra Steria company) provides recruitment and resourcing solutions to Sopra Steria, a leading European IT service provider.
Sopra Steria requires 3 Release Managers for initial 6 month contracts, based out of our offices in Hemel Hempstead. Sopra Steria is currently doing a large scale desktop and infrastructure upgrade for one of our public sector Clients and requires the Release Manages to join the project.
The Release Managers will be working on a large programme of work helping to co-ordinate the go live of a number of projects.
The Release Managers will be responsible for:
- Ensure timely delivery of release tasks allocated to the role
- Managing the release components after go live
- Ensuring ITIL/Release Management best practice is followed
- Manage direct reports, project& development teams/third party suppliers
- Control of release quality and testing
Release Manager Essential Skills:
- Experience in a Release Management post and management of large-scale Release within an IT environment
- Thorough understanding of the technologies & tools involved in the build, test and release process plus some experience [or at least exposure] in Service Management aspects of deploying new solutions into live service
- Must have a proven track record in Release Management across a programme and demonstrate an ability to problem solve and offer alternate solution approaches
- Ability to mentor and develop staff in ITIL release disciplines
- Central or local government experience would be an advantage
- Experience of IT support, development and delivery in an ITIL environment
