***Experienced Network Infrastructure Support Engineer required for initial 4 month contract for a key public sector client located in the South East area of Glasgow***

Role Profile

The role will involve maintaining and supporting our client's growing network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be part of a team that is responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures that meet business objectives and SLAs. They will also engage with national internet service providers and schedule / survey migrations to a new national provider.

Essential Skills

* Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches)
* Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including firmware updates, patches, and hot fixes
* Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
* Monitor system resource utilisation, trending, and capacity planning
* Able to provide 2nd and 3rd line support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
* Able to work within an established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
* Able to select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the security team
* Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
* Proven hands-on network engineering experience.
* Good communication skills.
* Able to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Desirable Skills

* Understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)
* Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
* Understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
* Prior experience of working on ICT programmes within a healthcare setting would be a distinct advantage.

NB - Travel is an essential part of this post, applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and have a car.
