Commercial Lead - MCIPS
A MCIPS certified Commercial Lead is required for a 4-6 month contract with a government agency based in Croydon.
The suitable Commercial Lead for this role must hold a full professional qualification in purchasing and supply at MCIPS (Professional Membership of Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply).
It is vital for this role that the Commercial Lead has knowledge, understanding and experience of Government procurement, including associated UK and EU Regulations and experience of leading major, complex procurement's whilst working in cross functional teams
The Commercial Lead for this role will need to be a strong communicator able to deliver results by proactive, positive and persuasive means and must be able to introduce or adapt to change in line with emerging business drivers and government requirements.
The Commercial Lead must be able to demonstrate a good understanding of business needs and develop an appropriate procurement strategy that reflects agreed risk appetite, including experience of:
- Using Business Intelligence to inform decision making
- Using business models (eg PEST, SWOT, Porter 5 Forces, etc)
- Developing and implementing benefits realisation methodologies
Main Duties and Responsibilities of the Commercial Lead:
Managing the production and execution of efficient procurement strategies whilst acting as a source of procurement and commercial expertise
Administering and demonstrating cashable savings from procurement activity
Providing leadership to Procurement Support resources in the team
Constructing procurement strategies that lead to commercial outcomes that are effective and reflect the needs of stakeholders
Leading on high value, complex and strategically important procurement projects.
