Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant to join their team in Croydon on a 3 month contract.

Key accountabilities:

  • Balance sheet preparation and review with Senior Management Accountant
  • Responsible for the integrity of the management accounts
  • Keep track and maintain accruals within the management accountants
  • Consolidate the overhead reporting for Major Civil Engineering. The information comes from multiple systems and sources around the UK.
  • Provide commentary and a level of understanding on monthly variations/variances to budget.
  • Provide support and preparation of the half year and full year fiscal reporting
  • Liaise with the CSC (shared service centre) in relation to queries, raising and resolving issues as required
  • Help deal with any adhoc queries that arise within the team
  • Carry out processes relating to project set up including notifying the CSC
  • Lead, develop and coach individuals to build high performing teams and create a pipeline of talent
  • Ensure a focus on Zero Harm
  • Support the delivery of the CSUK Sustainability 2020 roadmap

The successful candidate will need to have strong Excel skills. They will need to be competent at creating pivot tables, SUMIF statements, VLOOKUPS.

The individual will need to hold strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to improve processes. The improvement of processes is key to reduce the amount of time that tasks are being completed.

The individual will need to be a qualified/nearly qualified accountant with experience in an accounting role within a large company.

Daily rate is £175 p/day (37.5 hour week)
