Description

A key client of mine is looking for a Global Analyst to work closely with the Global VP for data.

You will be coming in to proactively address the strategic BI/MI/Insight agenda and discussion across their organisation(Global Products, Marketing, Finance, Customer Business Centres and IT leadership.

You will be required to:

Support the creation of high quality analysis artefacts, accurately and completely capturing the business need and purpose and driven out to detailed requirements, stories and test cases - functional and non-functional

* Provide and effective analysis governance for key data initiatives

* Proactive identification of key stakeholders in order to gather appropriately detailed requirements for key data projects, paying particular attention to architectural orchestration for iterative adoption of global data applications and services

* Help drive rapid but nonetheless informed architectural decisions making sure that key stakeholders and influencers are involved, responsible and accountable for such The Key Accountabilities & Decision Ownership:

* The initial deliverable for this role is to rapidly assemble a set of high level scoping requirement (epics) for a global greenfield MI/BI/Insight solution which will quickly be developed into more detailed requirements (stories and test cases). The candidate, therefore, must be able to develop and nurture strong working relationships with a wide variety of technical and non-technical stakeholders throughout the business

* The candidate will have proven experience in similar roles for blue-chip organisations and must show evidence of experience in all aspects of BI/MI/Insight and in driving competitive advantage from data with traditional and cutting edge technologies

* To proactively assist in driving a new approach to BI/MI/Insight at , ensuring that we can exploit our data across the organisation for business insight and analytics bringing contemporary thinking (and technical approaches) to our data, whilst recognising the need for continuity of our existing BI estates.

* Work alongside the Global Data Architect and support the VP of Data to drive the global MI/BI agenda, making sure that agenda covers people, process and technology

* To engage effectively with key data creators and consumers across the company as requested and to include Marketing, Sales, Finance and Product

* Gather detailed requirements for other key data projects and create required artefacts

* To assist in the requirements definition for disruptive data capabilities using lab or incubator type approaches

Skills:

* Analytical and critical thinking skills, prepared to challenge conventional thinking

* Talent in building relationships across the organization and in influencing direction and ability to drive change in organizations and rally others behind an agenda

* Recent examples of delivery of agile and innovative MI/BI/Insight solutions to support digital first businesses (such as real time personalisation, insight or data powered digital marketing) and proven experience in:

o Traditional DWH principles (incl. Kimball, Inmon)

o New DWH/Platform initiatives (incl. Cloud, Big Data, open source)

o Consumption methods (incl. data visualisation, reporting, dashboards, search)

o Acquisition methods (incl. file, streaming, API.)

o Marketing and Sales insight capabilities

o Data security, protection and access considerations

It is imperative that you have a detailed understanding of the Data Technology Architecture, Data Solutions Analysis, development lifecycle and Data tools and technologies
