Financial Accountant isrequired for a contract position in Birchwood Park, Warrington, UK. Sopra Steria Recruitment working in partnership with a major public sector client in the UK. Our Government client is looking for a Financial Accountant this will be a contract role until November 2016 initially with possible extension.
Essential
- Recognised professional accountancy qualification
- Proven experience from operating effectively as a senior finance professional within a government department or other large organisation
- Strong spreadsheet skills, experienced in building sophisticated financial models to support procurement evaluation or price bids
- Strong business and finance business partnering/management background as part of multi-functional teams working alongside commercial and business colleagues, ideally on large (£1m) procurements and or price bids
- Proven ability to operate effectively in large scale complex organisations and influence financial and non- financial stakeholder groups such as Board Executive and Non-executive Directors as well as Suppliers/Customers
- Demonstrable ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation (to at least Director level) and to engage with senior supplier representatives (eg Account Managers or Finance Directors)
Desirable
- Recent experience of managing large (?£1m) IT projects or procurements in the public sector, demonstrating a working knowledge of the financial controls and processes
