Financial Analyst/Accountant: Charity Sector/Social Enterprise

World Leading Global Energy Oil Company has an exciting opportunity for a Financial Analyst/
Accountant. This unique role provides experience in the charitable and social enterprise sectors as well as a unique opportunity to participate in the end-to-end finance processes for a medium sized entity from invoicing to Board reporting.

About the Role:

  • Development and day-to-day operating of the key financial controls of major programme agreements with restricted donors such as DFID in the UK and USAID in the USA; and
  • Development and implementation of improved business performance management including reporting of public benefit KPIs and commitment tracking; and
  • Become an integral part of the finance team providing support to the CFO and FC/FM

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Maintain and monitor agreement checklists for DFID and USAID
  • Perform due diligence and arrange payment requests for restricted donations; Includes liaising with Programme staff on grant payment rescheduling and processing in SUN
  • Participate in monthly ledger close, including revenue accounting and grant commitments - particularly for restricted portfolio.
  • Preparation of monthly budgetary control reporting and milestone tracking for restricted donations
  • Preparation of internal quarterly management information for the restricted programmes; external reporting and analysis to DFID, USAID on a quarterly, semi-annual and annual basis per agreements and investment committee requirements
  • Coordinate external auditor liaison for restricted programmes
  • Develop and implement transparent charging mechanism from SF to SFIM.
  • Maintain restricted monitoring information; prepare draft donor reporting and funding requests.
  • Prepare cash forecasts for restricted programmes.
  • Preparation of annual budget, and 5 year forecast for restricted programmes.
  • Maintenance of grants and contracts records files.
  • Deputise for the Finance Manager/Controller and SF Accountant as required.

About You:

  • Part Qualified of an internationally-recognised accountancy qualification) or qualified accountant; relevant experience including operational experience of the following preferred:
  • Management of contracts and agreements
  • IFRS or FRS 102
  • Budget preparation and variance analysis
  • Develop and prepare management information
  • Pro-active business partnering skills
  • Strong PC skills - Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook

This needs combining with a positive attitude and an ability to work within a large, globally dispersed project team in a multi-cultural environment. You also need to be a self-starter, a logical thinker and a quick learner, with strong initiative and excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, able to write clearly and concisely.
