Mission Systems TEMPEST Control Officer

A Mission Systems TEMPEST Control Officer is required to work on a twelve month contract with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Rosyth, Fife.

This is a 12 month contract with a leading UK Defence Business.

Overview of the Mission Systems TEMPEST Control Officer contract role

To be a member of the Mission System Electro Magnetic Engineering (EME) Team and to provide technical support and governance as directed by the Mission System EME Manager. The role will be predominantly based in Rosyth but travel to other production sites may be required (eg Frimley, Cowes, Crawley).

Key skills required for the Mission Systems TEMPEST Control Officer

  • Ability to act as a TEMPEST domain expert and TEMPEST Control Officer.
  • Ability to understand and implement the QEC TEMPEST Policy and RED ship concept in a ship-build environment.
  • Ability to plan and deliver the TEMPEST-related tasks for MS and the whole-ship.
  • Ability to assimilate the QEC Cable Separation, Shielding and Earthing & Bonding Policies and their impact on TEMPEST.
  • Ability to assimilate and interpret details of ship-build compartment information and supplied completion evidence for compliance with applicable standards.
  • Has sufficient capability to be able to undertake EME inspections and recommend corrective action
  • A knowledge of UK TEMPEST standards (SDIP 27 and SDIP 29) and related other document, such as CESG INFOSEC Memorandum No.32 (IM 32) which specifies UK Tempest requirements.
  • An understanding of graded compartments for TEMPEST and TEMPEST in the naval environment.
  • 5 Years' experience in engineering in a defence or related industry

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of CESG TEMPEST Control course
  • Typically Degree qualified (not essential), likely to be in a technology, engineering or science related discipline
  • Working towards the requirements for registration as Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council

The role is based in Rosyth, Fife - commutable from Dundee, Perth, Glenrothes, Kirkcaldy, Dunfermline, Stirling and Falkirk with excellent access from Glasgow
