Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing managed services team as a contractor supporting the Security Device Management team.
You will work within our Leeds Security Operations Centre (SOC) with direct responsibility for the supervision and configuration of our clients' security appliances as part of a managed services portfolio. Our SOC monitors a broad and increasing list of client estates providing exposure to a wide range of security products, attack groups and threats.
Key Responsibilities
Role responsibilities include setting initial security appliance configurations, making configuration changes to security appliances, troubleshooting and engaging with clients on existing issues. In addition to these tasks the successful candidate will:
- Review and manage open service requests and change orders.
- Work with various group to see projects to completion
- Preparing change packages ahead of schedule for Tier 1 implementation.
- Performing troubleshooting of networking/device issues.
- Raise tickets with vendors to resolve issues with appliances.
- Participate in a 24x7 on call rota.
- Serve as subject matter expert for Juniper SRX platform
Mandatory Skills and Experience Required
- Senior level experience administering Juniper SRX and Space Security Director
- Extensive understanding and experience of implementing IP routing protocols: OSPF,BGP
- Implementation of Site-to-Site VPN
- Understanding of common network services (vpn, web, mail, ftp, etc), network vulnerabilities, and network attack.
- Excellent communications skills.
- Current holder or willingness to undertake Security Clearance vetting.
Other Desirable Skills and Experience
- Recent experience working in a Security or Network Operations Centre.
- Certified Juniper Networks Certified Specialist Security (JNCIS-SEC)
- Other vendor firewall experience (such as Checkpoint, Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet)
- Working knowledge of Sourcefire and Bluecoats products
