Commercial Manager - DE&S

A Commercial Manager with missile and ammunition procurement experience is required to work on a 6 month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our government agency client based in Bristol.

Description

Senior Commercial Manager in a busy DE&S Operating Centre focussing on missile and ammunition procurement.

Main duties to include, but not be limited to competitive tendering, contract award, non-competitive pricing and contract management activities ensuring compliance with relevant Public Procurement legislation, Departmental policy and best practice.

Posts will require extensive procurement experience preferably in a public sector environment, Negotiation skills, sound contract drafting and inter personal skills required.

Assessing the existing commercial landscape and looking at the impact on programme delivery. Designing and implementing approaches which ensure effective delivery of the right outcome for the department. Leading on supplier integration with regards to relationship and cost impact upon the department.

Clarifying the ability to terminate current contracts, working with programme finance leads to understand impact and realisation of any potential benefits. The ability to renegotiate existing contracts. Managing the impact of existing commercial financial models. Acting as primary point of contact between the incumbent supplier(s) and the department.

The role is based in Bristol. This is commutable from Cardiff, Birmingham, Swindon, Oxford, London, and the South West.
