Client
My client is a Leading International Manufacturer of Medical Equipment who has come to me with a requirement for an EMEA IT Systems Engineer. This contract will extend until the end of the year and you'll support the wider business from a 2nd/3rd level, with around 250+ users. Role Definition
- Provide technical support for over 250+ users distributed in EMEA Region
- 2nd and 3rd Level responsibility for IT Tickets raised in region (after China Helpdesk (1st Level)
- Work with users to troubleshoot and solve operational issues - from diagnosis to resolution and documentation. Ability to escalate quickly and effectively when needed
- Support for Windows Server environment - both physical and virtual (VMWARE ESX) systems -to include Install/Troubleshoot/Replace hardware or firmware as necessary.
- Support LAN and WAN Network Environment (CISCO) CCNA preferable
- Expertise on Lotus Domino/Notes/Verse platforms is preferable but not essential (training given)
- Support VMWare environment including all aspects of server administration and host environment.
- Provide tuning, troubleshooting and analysis of environment at all levels.
- Monitor system logs, activity and performance on all Servers daily.
- Administer, verify, and restore backups as necessary.
- Research new technologies and present recommendations/justifications on hardware and software purchases.
- Lead and contribute to local, regional and global projects
- Work closely with Business and IT teams to achieve business goals
Experience and Background
- Previous experience of working within a multinational environment supporting users remote to IT's physical location, including field based
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced dynamic environment
- Confident in a Matrix environment and ability to deal with stakeholders at various levels in the organisation and provide excellent service
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal. Ideally Dutch speaking
- Strong knowledge of enterprise production environment best practices and troubleshooting techniques.
- Travel may be required to regional offices in EMEA as required (daily work and project work)
