Radley James client a large global legal firm are recruiting for a Network Engineer to form part of a small team responsible for supporting all aspects of the Network Infrastructure including 2nd level support, Network Monitoring. Includes the support of security related products, Firewalls, VPN's, wireless etc.

This is a contract position

Main Duties

  • Act as point of contact for all BAU support for the clients global network infrastructure, both WAN and LAN
  • 2nd Line level Network support on Cisco and Brocade devices
  • 2nd Line level Firewall/VPN support
  • Day to day trouble ticket resolution
  • Maintain internal procedural and technical documentation
  • Liaising with regional office IT Staff
  • It is envisaged that the role will be 100% BAU support based.

Essential Skills

  • Technical understanding of TCP/IP protocol stack
  • Technical understanding of Layer 2 switching and associated protocols
  • Technical understanding of Layer 3 routing and associated protocols OSPF/EIGRP/BGP
  • Technical understanding of QoS (Campus/WAN)
  • Experience of Brocade network Switches
  • CCNA Route/Switch or equivalent experience
  • Technical understanding of Network edge security and associated security protocols
  • Demonstrable knowledge of network support (LAN/WAN/Security)
  • Experience of supporting large scale WAN infrastructures
  • Experience with a leading Firewall technology Checkpoint/Cisco ASA/McAfee
  • Good knowledge of Riverbed/Steelhead WAN accelerators
  • TACACS/Radius
  • Good knowledge of SolarWinds NPM and SolarWinds NTA
  • F5 LTM
  • McAfee Firewall configuration
  • Fortinet Firewall configuration
  • Knowledge of SSL based VPN solutions

Desirable

  • Experience of and troubleshooting QoS issues in a Cisco environment
  • An understanding of Wireless LAN technologies and related security issues
  • Experience with VPN's both IPSEC and SSL
  • A good understanding of the Internet and Internet technologies.
  • Knowledge of network detection tools, eg Wireshark
  • Experience of IPVPN/MPLS networks
