Supply Chain Specialist- Defence

A Supply Chain Specialist is required to work on a six month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our Defence client based in Preston.

This is a 6 month contract with a leading UK defence client.

Overview of the Supply Chain Specialist contract role

A vacancy has arisen for a Supply Chain Professional/Order Book Manager. Employed within the Supply Chain Function, the successful candidate will report to the Material Support Section Leader. The role is specifically to manage the delivery of aircraft spares.

Main responsibilities will involve:

  • Managing the delivery of materiel in to the UK logistics hub in line with customer required delivery date.
  • Liaising with Suppliers to answer any queries which may be raised upon receipt of items in to the UK logistics hub.
  • Liaising with stakeholders across the business and at the company's logistics provider to ensure that items are cased and shipped to the Customer in good time to achieve contractual payment milestones.
  • Ensuring that all relevant US export control regulations are adhered to.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience of the Supply Chain and order book management in addition, an understanding of the IFS System & procurement.

The role is based in Preston, Lancashire - commutable from Blackpool, Lancaster, Morecambe, Chorley, Leyland, Blackburn, Darwen, Burnley, Skipton, Stockport, Manchester, Warrington, Wigan, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale and Oldham with excellent access from Liverpool and Leeds
