Description
My client, a leading Fund Manager, is looking for a Fund Accountant with strong fund statutory reporting experience to join on a long term rolling contract. The ideal candidate will have previous investment accounting experience, with exposure to OEICS, unit trusts, and unauthorised unit trusts.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of interim and annual financial statements for a range of dividend and interest paying OEIC and Unit Trust funds
- Ownership of a defined set of funds of varying complexity and size, completing regular reviews substantiating material income and expense balances
- Reconcile income tax and corporation tax balances for a defined allocation funds to external schedules
- Liaison with the auditors, tax specialists and Depositary/Trustee
- Conduct analysis and review of dividend announcements to ensure correct accounting treatment
- Resolution of audit queries and reconciling positions to Depositary statements
- Keeping abreast of industry and technical developments
Essential skills
- Part qualified accountant or qualified by experience
- Team player with a flexible attitude, able to prioritise, work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Willingness to share knowledge with colleagues and work collaboratively to achieve team goals
- Good organisational skills, a self-starter who is able to take ownership of issues
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of other Office programmes
