Global Asset Manager with fantastic team environment seeking a Contract Infrastructure Support Engineer.
Role is to provide operational 2nd and 3rd line support of Storage & Server infrastructure. The administration/monitoring/configuration/implementation of the global Storage & Server infrastructure. Advise on decisions relating to infrastructure developments and improvement. Assist with roll outs and upgrades to a global infrastructure. The team works closely with the Network and Architecture Teams to deliver a stable and resilient infrastructure for business.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
*Provide in-depth expert level technical support and consultancy relating Storage infrastructure portfolio (Primarily HP 3PAR).
*Day to day support of the Storage/Server environment within Henderson including fast and effective management of support calls.
*Responsible for maintaining the Storage Infrastructure.
*On project assignments you will work closely with other project teams, in developing new solutions based on business requirements. Working with the Architecture Team to design/evaluate technical solutions, this will include producing technical support documentation.
*Manage service delivery levels and proactively improve them where possible.
Technical Skills & Qualifications Required
*Mandatory - strong HP 3PAR Storage administration skills.
*Mandatory - strong SAN Fiber Chanel Fabric administration skills (preferably Cisco).
*Experience with EMC VNX storage platforms.
*Proven hands on experience of VMware products, ESX with Virtual Centre, vSAN and SRM.
*Support of Windows Server R2 - administration & troubleshooting.
*Proficient in Microsoft Infrastructure services.
*Competent use of PowerShell.
*Sound understanding of Network, Internet Protocols and the use of DMZ's.
*Good understanding of desktop architecture and how it interacts with the Server infrastructure.
*Understand the importance of good working practices in the Data Centre.
*Administration/Configuration/Implementation of Microsoft DFS and DFS-R (desirable).
*Administration/Configuration/Support of Citrix XenApp services/Netscaler's and application deployment (desirable).
*Use of ServiceNow (desirable).
*Use of Microsoft Azure (desirable).
*Administer Commvault for data protection (desirable).
