Financial Accounting/Consolidation Officer - (ACCA/Public Sector)
Financial Accounting/Consolidation Officer required for my public sector client. The Financial Accounting/Consolidation Officer will manage the collection, receipt and monitoring of financial returns and data collections from academy trusts and lead on specific elements of the process and manage the provision of high quality forecasts and estimates of Academy expenditure to ensure expenditure is within departmental control totals and will provide detailed strategic and technical accounting advice and guidance, be an expert for specific issues
Job criteria
- ACCA qualification desirable
- to understand their own work area, be able to quickly get up to speed with issues
- have a good understanding of the links to other areas and how their work fits within the structure of the organisation as well as having a good understanding of the external business environment
- to have technical expertise that allows them to make sound and balanced judgements
- to have the ability to persuade and influence senior grades and stakeholders and advise and have the expertise to be able to guide more junior colleagues on complex issues within their area of the business
- sound analytical skills and good judgement to inform their decisions or when providing opinions or advice to others
- good interpersonal skills
The experience needed:
- Managing the production of statutory accounts and related returns
- Managing the external audit interface
- Managing the production of high quality accounting forecasts and estimates from a large volume of imperfect information
- Managing a service provider
- Providing high quality accounting advice (ideally in a public sector context)
- Managing a team or project
