Description
Our client, a large Energy provider, is looking for a Project Accountant to work on an initial six month contract, with the potential for an extension. This role will be based in Gloucester. We are looking for someone who is skilled in Project Accounting and importantly has experience with forecasting.
Scope of work
- Financial Reporting - Lead and where required, advise on the further development of, the department's financial reporting and monitoring in order to meet the requirements of the company business planning process and provide an up to date picture of the department's current financial status at any one time.
- Business Planning - Prepare and review as appropriate the Business Plans for Programmes, liaising with project managers and project teams to ensure that appropriate plans are communicated.
- Budget Control - Working with the programme teams, ensure that programmes are sanctioned in line with the Programmes investment process, including challenge and review of the appropriate paperwork.
- Provide tailored support to Programme Managers to ensure appropriate financial controls and governance is in place.
- Identify non adherence to agreed programmes governance and control processes and close associated gapsExcellent IT skills including advanced level of Excel.
- Good communication and organisation skills.
Skills/experience
- Good understanding of business planning processes.
- Proven experience in delivering quality information to tight deadlines.
- HMC qualification or equivalent.
