Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) Asset Management
One of the UK's top banks are looking for a Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) to join their Asset Management team on an interim basis. The ideal candidate will have held a similar position in an asset management company. The role is paying between £ daily.
Role Purpose
- The job holder is as CAO heading the Accounting team of the relevant firms with an onshore and offshore team.
- The job holder is finally responsible for the financial accounting in all aspects, this includes closing the books, reporting to HSBC Holdings and statutory accounts.
- The job holder has the final responsibility for regulatory returns which relate to the financial performance or Risk weighted assets of the companies.
- Business partnering with subject matter experts in risk and other finance functions
- The team is part of the wider finance team, the CAO is expected to run independently larger projects in his area to improve processes and procedures.
- Interpreting new financial reporting requirements and designing the associated external disclosures
- Implementing the necessary control environment to provide assurance over financial information included in external publications (including analytical review and other appropriate procedures)
Special Requirements:
- Qualified financial accountant with an audit firm (ACA or equivalent)
- Experience in financial accounting of a financial institution
- Experience to manage on- and offshore teams
- Strong business partnering skills
- Business knowledge in Asset Management products
- Strong analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Able to explain complex issues in simple, understandable terms.
- Good project skills
- Proven record of managed changes
- Team player who is able to persuade stakeholder of recommended changes
